Arlington, Va. (June 2, 2025) – The National Railway Labor Conference (NRLC) today announced the appointment of Stephanie Deiger as Vice Chair. Ms. Deiger succeeds Jeff Rodgers, who held the role prior to being named Chair in late 2024.
Ms. Deiger, who was most recently the Chief Human Resources Officer at Southeastern Pennsylvania Transportation Authority (SEPTA) in Philadelphia, brings nearly three decades of labor relations experience to the Vice Chair role. Before joining SEPTA in 2010, Deiger was an attorney at the law firm Ballard Spahr, also based in Philadelphia. Prior to that, she served as a Field Examiner for the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB). She holds a Juris Doctor from the James E. Beasley School of Law at Temple University and a Bachelor of Science in labor and industrial relations from Pennsylvania State University.
Ms. Deiger joins the NRLC just as the freight rail industry has reached dozens of local and national agreements to resolve the current round of national bargaining.
“We are excited to welcome Stephanie Deiger to the NRLC team,” said Rodgers. “Her extensive experience and skills in labor relations will help us deliver more wins for railroads and employees across the country.”
